What Is Video SEO?

Online Video is taking over the world so we also have Video Search Engines and Ranking. YouTube is an example of a video search engine. There are many seo optimizations you can do when creating your videos and submitting them on search engines. Many of the on page items are similar so make sure your video title, thumbnail, etc all have quality content, titles, descriptions and links.

Tip: Adding a relevant video to every page will help your rankings as you not only get your page ranked you also get a video ranked.

Keyword Optimization

The article/page/post keyword is the main thing that will rank you high in the search results. A key word can be a single word like “SEO” or “optimization” or it can be a keyword phrase like “what is seo?”. Don’t be confused by keyword vs keyword phrase they are the same thing meaning the keyword is exactly what the user  types into the search box.

Tip: When creating content for a keyword you can use LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) variations of the keyword within the article to avoid keyword stuffing. Use LSIGraph to enter your keyword to see other variations users are searching. https://lsigraph.com/

Keyword Competition

You should make sure people are searching for your keyword before writing the perfect article.  Simply type in your keyword and see the results. Then you can check the search volume in Google Ads Manager or other free and paid tools.

If you are trying to outrank competitors for a certain keyword you need to examine what is causing them to rank higher, which is usually relevant high quality content, lots of backlinks from other websites increasing and high competition score.

Tip: Use a tool like LongTailPro to find related keywords with good search volume and low to medium competitions score so you have a good chance of ranking high in search. https://longtailpro.com/

User Interaction - Bounce Rates - Stickyness

Another major factor in ranking your content is how long a user stays on that page. If they leave right away then your bounce rate will be high and search engines will assume your content is not relevant to the keyword. This is a very important signal to search engines.

Tip: Adding a relevant video with a similar or same keyword will help lower bounce rates as video is the most consumed content on the web.

Robots.txt and Sitemap.xml

The robots.txt shows what search indexes can and can’t index from your site. So you must have a sitemap and robots.txt and have them available for search engines to crawl your site.
